Q&A

Two products are required: Dulux® Aquanamel® Gloss or Semi Gloss, and Dulux® Precision® Maximum Strength Adhesion Primer.

Dulux® Aquanamel® Gloss or Semi Gloss is a non-yellowing, water-based acrylic enamel that dries to a tough, ultra-smooth finish that resists chipping.

Dulux® Precision® Maximum Strength Adhesion Primer has excellent adhesion properties and is specifically designed to bond to ‘tough to paint’ surfaces, such as uPVC, vinyl, glass, glazed tiles, high gloss enamels and Laminex among others (for the full list of surfaces, visit dulux.com.au)

  1.  Repair imperfections and fill holes, then clean all surfaces thoroughly.
  2. Always wear eye protection when painting.
  3. Test Precision Maximum Strength Adhesion Primer on a small area first.
  4. Apply 1 coat of Precision Maximum Strength Adhesion Primer using either a high quality synthetic filament brush or a medium nap (10-13mm) synthetic roller for smooth surfaces.
  5. Divide area to be painted into patches (50 – 60cm2) and paint one patch at a time. Lay off each patch with light vertical strokes and lap slightly into previously painted patches. Top coat can usually be applied after 1 hour.
  6. Apply 2 coats of Aquanamel® Gloss or Semi Gloss using a 9mm synthetic roller to achieve the smoothest finish. Ensure the first coat is completely dry before applying the second coat. Best results are achieved using thin coats.
